In the initial phase of the Bihar assembly elections, several prominent political leaders voted early on Thursday. Among them was RJD leader and INDIA bloc Chief Minister candidate Tejashwi Yadav, who cast his ballot in Patna with his family, including RJD chief Lalu Prasad.

Other key figures who voted early included Union minister Giriraj Singh and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha in Lakhisarai, along with Union minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh 'Lalan' in Patna.

The contest revolves around issues from development to law and order, contrasting Nitish Kumar's governance track record with Tejashwi Yadav's emphasis on social justice.

A notable wildcard is election strategist Prashant Kishor's newly formed Jan Suraaj party, poised to play spoiler in Bihar's dynamic political landscape. The role of caste dynamics in shaping voter behaviour remains a critical element to monitor.
