Mutual Fund Investment Platforms in India 2026

India’s mutual fund investment sector has expanded sharply over the past five years. Industry assets under management have crossed ₹80 lakh crore, while monthly SIP contributions are above ₹26,000 crore. More than 9 crore SIP accounts are active, and the country has over 21 crore demat accounts, with about one lakh new accounts being added every day.

As investors increasingly move online in 2026, the choice of platforms has also widened. Some services focus on first-time mutual fund investors using SIPs, while others provide wealth management solutions for high-net-worth individuals handling multi-crore portfolios. The key consideration is finding a platform that suits both an investor’s current requirements and future financial needs.

The six platforms assessed here were compared on advisory depth, digital experience, product range, fee transparency and investor trust. Their suitability varies considerably depending on investment size, the level of guidance required and the type of products sought.

How the platforms compare

The platforms were evaluated across five parameters—advisory depth, digital experience, product breadth, fee transparency and investor trust—on a scale of 1 to 10. Publicly reported assets under management were also considered where available.

Groww, Zerodha and INDmoney do not publicly disclose AUM figures. Anand Rathi Wealth’s AUM reflects its position as a listed, non-bank wealth management company serving mainly HNI and UHNI clients.

1. Groww: Large online mutual fund platform for new investors

Best suited for: First-time investors beginning mutual fund investment through SIPs of less than ₹10,000 a month.

Groww is among India’s most downloaded investment applications and has the largest registered-user base among mutual fund platforms. Its interface is designed around simplicity, allowing a new investor to begin with a ₹500 SIP in a short time.

The platform offers direct mutual funds without commission, along with stocks, IPOs, fixed deposits, digital gold and US stock investing. Its calculators, fund comparison tools and beginner-focused educational material are intended to make mutual fund investment easier for first-time users. Groww has also obtained an AMC licence, indicating plans to expand from online mutual fund distribution into fund manufacturing.

Groww does not offer personalised advisory services, relationship managers, PMS or AIF products. It is primarily a self-directed platform, which may limit its usefulness for investors with portfolios of ₹25–50 lakh who require assistance with asset allocation or tax planning.

2. FundsIndia: Digital investing combined with professional wealth management

Best suited for: Investors who want expert guidance while beginning their investment journey and wish to avoid common do-it-yourself investing mistakes.

FundsIndia combines an online mutual fund platform with professional wealth management services. It serves retail SIP investors as well as ultra-HNI families, giving investors the possibility of continuing with the same platform as their financial requirements become more complex.

Founded in Chennai in 2008 and backed by WestBridge Capital, FundsIndia manages more than ₹32,800 crore in AUM. Its AUM has increased 58% year-on-year and recorded a three-year compound growth rate of 38%, placing it among the faster-growing mid-sized wealth management firms.

Its retail platform supports more than 2.85 lakh active SIPs and provides access to mutual funds, equities, fixed deposits, gold ETFs, bonds and goal-based financial planning. The paperless service includes SIP calculators, step-up SIP planning, portfolio analytics and family portfolio management.

FundsIndia also provides research-backed investment recommendations through its proprietary 5 Finger Strategy, which has outperformed the Nifty 50 TRI over a 20-year period. Investors can access advisors for goal planning, portfolio reviews and rebalancing, rather than selecting funds solely from a large catalogue.

The company operates through three channels: a direct digital service for retail investors, a partner network for independent financial advisors and an advisory-led model for investors requiring structured support. The platform has more than 2.85 lakh active SIPs, ₹32,800 crore in AUM and a presence across India. More than 71% of its investors come from outside the top metro cities.

3. Zerodha Coin: Low-cost option for self-directed investors

Best suited for: Self-directed investors and active traders who prioritise quick execution and low costs over personalised advice.

Zerodha pioneered discount broking in India and remains the country’s largest stockbroker by active clients. Its mutual fund service, Coin, provides commission-free direct-plan mutual funds and is integrated with Kite for stock trading, Console for portfolio and tax reporting, and Varsity for investor education.

The platform is designed for investors who know which products they want to buy and prefer an execution-focused service. It does not rely on relationship manager calls, product promotion or frequent recommendations. Varsity provides free educational material for investors who want to learn independently.

Zerodha does not provide personalised advisory, wealth planning, PMS, AIF or estate services. Investors seeking someone to construct and manage their portfolios may therefore require a different platform.

4. INDmoney: Consolidated tracking of investments and net worth

Best suited for: Investors who want to monitor bank accounts, mutual funds, stocks, EPF, NPS, credit cards and US equities through one dashboard.

INDmoney’s main strength is its multi-account aggregation feature. By bringing together information from bank accounts, demat accounts, mutual fund folios, EPF, NPS and credit cards, it offers users a consolidated view of their net worth.

The service also supports direct mutual fund investments without commission, Indian and US stock trading under the Reserve Bank of India’s LRS allowance, SIPs, IPOs and fixed deposits. The platform has crossed 10 million registered users. Its paid subscription includes a dedicated wealth manager and tax tools, although the managers are relationship managers supported by algorithms rather than SEBI-registered investment advisers.

INDmoney’s advisory function is algorithm-driven and not fiduciary in nature. It does not offer PMS or AIF access, and its principal advantage lies in account aggregation and online mutual fund investment rather than complex wealth planning.

5. Scripbox: Curated mutual fund portfolios for long-term goals

Best suited for: Families and long-term investors seeking managed mutual fund portfolios with periodic rebalancing.

Established in 2012, Scripbox is one of India’s early digital wealth management firms. Instead of presenting investors with thousands of schemes, it selects a limited range of mutual funds using proprietary algorithms and periodically rebalances the portfolios.

The platform manages more than ₹18,500 crore in AUM across over 1 lakh families in more than 2,500 cities. Its offerings have expanded to PMS, AIF, bonds and fixed deposits. Revenue reached ₹109 crore in FY25, representing 21% growth.

The curated model provides less choice to experienced investors who prefer to select from a wider range of funds. The app has received mixed reviews regarding stability, and PMS onboarding was paused for account migration as of late 2026.

6. Anand Rathi Wealth: Data-led services for HNIs and UHNIs

Best suited for: HNIs and UHNIs with portfolios of ₹50 lakh or more who want relationship manager-led wealth advisory.

Anand Rathi Wealth is a publicly listed, non-bank wealth management firm that has operated in the private wealth segment since 2002. During Q1 FY27, its AUM crossed ₹106,300 crore. The company serves more than 13,941 client families through 417 relationship managers across over 18 cities, including Dubai.

In FY26, profit after tax rose 28% to ₹386 crore on revenue of ₹1,149 crore. The company recorded 18 consecutive quarters of more than 20% PAT growth.

Its high minimum entry requirement makes the service unsuitable for most retail investors. The model is centred on relationship managers rather than a self-service digital experience, and it is not designed primarily for independent mutual fund investing.

Which platform may suit different investors?

The appropriate choice depends on an investor’s present portfolio, preferred level of control and expected future requirements.

Investors starting a first mutual fund SIP with ₹1,000 a month may prefer the straightforward interfaces of Groww or Zerodha. INDmoney is suited to those who want to view multiple financial accounts and investments in one place.

Scripbox is aimed at investors who prefer curated and periodically managed mutual fund portfolios. Those with wealth of more than ₹50 lakh who want a dedicated relationship manager may consider Anand Rathi Wealth.

FundsIndia offers a broader progression, covering retail SIP investing as well as portfolios requiring PMS, AIF and estate planning. Its model combines digital mutual fund investment with professional wealth management.

With a growing number of online investment services available, investors need to select a platform that matches their requirements and is unlikely to become unsuitable as their portfolio and financial goals develop.
