The Delhi Police claimed that they had arrested four illegal immigrants from Bangladesh from Bawana and Mahipalpur in Delhi on Thursday. The three of the accused had been working as property dealers here.

They claimed that the accused, Mustaq and his sons Shahid Khan and Mintu lived in Bawana's JJ Colony.

The accused were allegedly residing in the city for over 20 years using fake documents.

Md Monto, an illegal migrant from Bangladesh, was arrested from Mahipalpur area while he was looking for housing.

They settled in Delhi after entering India illegally from Bangladesh through West Bengal.

They had illegally entered India from Bangladesh via West Bengal and later settled in Delhi. They were currently working as property dealers in Bawana area and were having fake birth certificates and other fake Indian identity documents.

“During interrogation, the accused initially denied any link with Bangladesh and tried to mislead the police by producing forged documents. However, sustained interrogation and verification of the documents revealed the truth,” a senior officer said.

They later told the police that with the help of local agents they obtained fake documents in West Bengal and Delhi.

They had been living at different areas in the city and finally settled in JJ Colony, Bawana. The police have registered a case under various sections of the BNS and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act.

Monto had been staying in India illegally for 15 years. The police had received a secret information about him seeking an accommodation in Mahipalpur area.

“The individual failed to produce valid documents and admitted to being an illegal migrant who had entered India 15 years ago,” he said.
Following legal formalities, he has been sent to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) for deportation procedures after legal formalities.
