On Monday, IndiGo revealed plans for a direct flight route connecting Bengaluru and Agatti, set to commence on March 31. This initiative aims to bolster air accessibility to Lakshadweep.
Agatti will mark the 88th domestic destination and the 121st overall in the expansive IndiGo network.
Scheduled services between Bengaluru and Agatti will kick off on March 31, as per an announcement by the airline. For this route, IndiGo will deploy ATR aircraft, accommodating approximately 78 passengers.
The airlines highlighted Agatti's appeal to enthusiasts of deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, sailing, skiing, and kayaking.
Moreover, the island serves as a convenient launchpad for exploring nearby uninhabited and tranquil isles such as Bangaram, Pitti, Thinnakara, Parali-I, and Parali-II.
At present, Alliance Air is the sole carrier offering services to Agatti, with regional carrier FLY91 planning to commence services to the destination in April.
