Open AI launched its most affordable new India-only subscription plan on Tuesday, called ChatGPT Go, in a bid to strengthen its presence in the country.
The plan is priced at 399 rupees ($4.57) per month, and allows users to send up to 10 times more messages as well as generate 10 times more images as compared to the free version. The response time of the app is also faster in this paid version, says the company.

Microsoft-backed MSFT.O startup said in a statement that ChatGPT Go is designed for Indians who want greater access to ChatGPT’s advanced capabilities at a more affordable price.
It also has a top-tier version, called ChatGPT Pro, which is priced at 19,900 rupees/month in India. Its mid-range plan costs 1,999 rupees/month. Message limits increase with higher-tier subscription plans, the company informed.
India, the world’s most populous nation, is OpenAI’s second-largest market by user base after the United States. Earlier this year, CEO Sam Altman had met with India’s IT minister and discussed a plan to create a low-cost AI ecosystem for India’s price-sensitive market.
