The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will observe a fasting and prayer meet on June 1 in the Longding-Pumao constituency, a day before the assembly election results are announced in Arunachal Pradesh.
The programme is aimed at seeking divine guidance and support for a favourable outcome.
According to party sources, the BJP’s Longding-Pumao constituency will host the event, which will take place from 6 am to 9 am across polling booths in the area.
A circular issued by the BJP office details the agenda, which includes various prayer activities designed to purify hearts and minds as participants await the election results.
Participants will engage in confession prayers, acknowledging any perceived wrongdoings or shortcomings during the 2024 election campaign.
This act of humility is intended to prepare them spiritually for the upcoming results, a party member explained.
The programme will also feature prayers for a favourable outcome in the election, with supporters praying for success in the polls and the well-being of the party and its candidates.
Special prayers will be offered for Shri Tanpho Wangnaw, the BJP candidate for the 59th Longding-Pumao Assembly Constituency, and his family, seeking blessings for their health, safety, and dedication to public service.
Additionally, the event will emphasize prayers for all BJP voters, election agents, and party officials who have worked tirelessly throughout the campaign.
There will also be prayers for the smooth functioning of the electoral process, including the efforts of counting agents and officials involved in the declaration of results.
Participants will also pray for the formation of BJP governments at both the central and state levels, with specific prayers for the success of BJP candidates in three key Assembly Constituencies within the Longding District.
