This decision was reached following a comprehensive coordination meeting between BJP leaders, Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT), and Tipra Motha leaders in Agartala.
The meeting marked the first coordination effort between BJP, IPFT, and Tipra Motha in preparation for the impending Lok Sabha polls.
Held behind closed doors at a private hotel in the capital, the meeting lasted approximately two hours.
In attendance were Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Biplab Kumar Deb, Kriti Singh Debbarma, Tripura BJP President Rajib Bhattacharya, Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, Tipra Motha President Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawl, Minister Animesh Debbarma, and other legislators from IPFT and Tipra Motha.
Rajib Bhattacharya, the state president of BJP, elucidated on the meeting's discussions, highlighting the strategic planning for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
"Considering BJP's governance in the state and our collaboration with Tipra Motha, we convened this coordination meeting with IPFT, BJP, and Tipra Motha leaders to strategise for the Lok Sabha elections. A comprehensive plan has been devised, and we will implement it at the grassroots level to bolster PM Modi's efforts to secure victory in both Lok Sabha seats," Bhattacharya stated.
He further outlined the nomination filing schedule, stating that the nomination paper for the West Tripura Parliamentary seat would be submitted on March 27, followed by a rally commencing at 10 AM in front of Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan in Agartala.
Subsequently, on March 28, nominations were filed for the East seat in Ambassa, Dhalai District.
"All leaders, MLAs, and MDCs will unite to ensure triumph in both seats," Bhattacharya affirmed.
