A documentary celebrating Nagaland's cultural heritage made its global debut at the Melbourne Film Festival, receiving acclaim for its portrayal of the region's traditions. Titled "Headhunting to Beatboxing," the film is produced by acclaimed composer AR Rahman.

Abu Metha, Adviser to the Nagaland Chief Minister, attended the premiere and highlighted the film’s significance in showcasing Naga ancestral stories and diverse tribal communities.

Metha described the documentary as a cultural ambassador, offering global audiences a glimpse into Nagaland's vibrant culture, including its famous Hornbill Festival.

Metha lauded the film for featuring Naga youth, who confidently represented their heritage on an international platform.

He dedicated the documentary to the younger generation of Nagaland and the preservation of their cultural legacy.

In a tweet, Metha expressed his gratitude to Rahman and acknowledged Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for his support.

"I had the opportunity to speak about the culture and heritage of the Naga people and dwelled on the stories and legends that have been passed down generation after generation for hundreds of years; also highlighted the vibrant tribes of Nagaland, the Naga way of life and our age old festivals," he said.

"Also called upon the global community to better appreciate and understand our stories and invited well-wishers to come and experience the legendary Hornbill Festival," Mehta added.
