In a terrifying moment that was watched by thousands of fans and caught on camera, singer Katy Perry narrowly escaped a prop malfunction while performing during a concert in San Francisco on Friday.
Perry, 40, was sitting on a flying butterfly prop while performing to her song, Roar, when it suddenly malfunctioned mid-air, dropping slightly and forcing her to slip in her seat.
In a clip posted on X, the singer can be seen holding onto the prop and looking visibly scared as she looks down at the audience, where she would have fallen if the prop had given way.

The singer later addressed the mishap on her Instagram Stories with a blurry photo of her scared reaction to the malfunction with the caption, “Good Night San Fran,” written over the top of the image.
Perry had suffered a similar prop malfunction in Australia on June 29, while performing on stage.
Artist Beyoncé also survived a mishap recently when she was left dangling during her Cowboy Carter show in Houston.
Perry kicked off her LifeTimes Tour by promoting her album 143 on April 23. She is set to perform next in Seattle on July 21, before heading to Canada, then Europe and South America, up until the world tour concludes on December 7.
