Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko and his family were involved in a tragic road accident near Palakottai in Tamil Nadu’s Dharmapuri district early on Friday morning, resulting in the death of his father, Sibi Chacko, aged 70.
The actor and his mother sustained injuries and were immediately admitted to the Dharmapuri Government Medical College Hospital, where they are presently undergoing treatment. Reports suggest that Shine suffered a fracture, while his mother and brother, who were also in the vehicle at the time, received minor injuries.
According to preliminary information, the car in which the family was travelling rammed into a lorry at approximately 7 a.m. Shine was seen in visuals from the hospital conversing with medical staff while receiving treatment.

Further details surrounding the cause of the accident are awaited.
Chacko, who began his career as an assistant director before making his acting debut in 2011 with Gaddama, has since featured in several acclaimed Malayalam films including Annayum Rasoolum, Kammatipaadam, Godha, Parava, Mayanadhi, Operation Java, and Kuruthi. He has also acted in Tamil and Telugu cinema, with recent appearances in Good Bad Ugly and Alappuzha Gymkhana.
The actor was recently in the headlines following allegations of drug use. He is currently under police investigation after his co-actor, Vincy Aloshious, filed a complaint accusing him of consuming narcotics and misbehaving on the sets of Soothravakyam.
Authorities have yet to confirm whether an FIR has been filed in connection with Friday’s accident.
