Australian actress Samara Weaving is finally a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

According to reports, Weaving has been cast in Marvel’s reboot of “The X-Men.” She will portray Emma Frost, a powerful telepath whose comic book history spans a dramatic redemption arc from supervillain to superhero.

“The X-Men” will be directed by Jake Schreier, who oversaw last year’s “Thunderbolts.”

This casting follows Marvel’s massive Hall H showcase at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. During the panel, the studio thrilled fans by introducing Ryan Gosling as the new Ghost Rider and announcing that “Alien: Romulus” star David Jonsson will inherit the crown as Wakanda's next leader in “Black Panther 3”.

The brief cinematic drought for Marvel Studios is officially over. While recent films like “Captain America: Brave New World” and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” struggled to find their footing at the box office, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” came out swinging. Led by Tom Holland, the blockbuster is pacing towards shattering records this weekend, effortlessly solidifying its status as a saviour for the franchise.

Meanwhile, Weaving was most recently seen in “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come” and “Over Your Dead Body.” She also appeared in “The Babysitter,” “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,” “Scream VI” and “Bill & Ted Face the Music.”

The mutant heroes, at least the ones from the 20th Century Fox films, will make an appearance in “Avengers: Doomsday” along with Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart and James Marsden popping up in the ‘gangs-all-here’ mashup.
