She left a mark as Sansa Stark and stunned the world with her stellar performance as Dark Phoenix. And now, she is all set to play Lara Croft. Sophie Turner is on a roll. The actress has signed up to portray the iconic character for Amazon Prime Video's upcoming "Tomb Raider" series.
The team, which includes "Fleabag" star Phoebe Waller-Bridge as creator, writer and co-showrunner, as well as "Dope Thief" and "Shōgun's" Jonathan Van Tulleken as the director, will begin production early next year.
Turner is thrilled to be cast as the treasure-hunting archaeologist who helms the nearly 30-year-old video game franchise previously played by Hollywood bigwigs like Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander.
"I am thrilled beyond measure to be playing Lara Croft. She's such an iconic character who means so much to so many – and I am giving everything I've got," the 29-year-old actress said in a statement.
