In a world where grand Bollywood weddings often take center stage, Taapsee Pannu chose a completely different path, opting for a more intimate and personal celebration of her love.
In March of the previous year, the actor tied the knot with her longtime partner, Mathias Boe, in a private ceremony held in the picturesque city of Udaipur. What made this wedding truly unique was the couple's ability to keep the entire event completely under wraps.
There were no leaked photos, no extravagant announcements, and no dramatic reveals—just a quiet, intimate celebration shared with a select group of close friends and family. Now, as Taapsee and Mathias prepare to celebrate their first anniversary, a heartwarming detail about their wedding has come to light, offering a deeper insight into Taapsee's personal values.

Rather than following the usual wedding traditions, such as receiving lavish gifts, the couple made a special request to their guests: instead of gifting them, they asked their loved ones to contribute to Project Nanhi Kali, an initiative that Taapsee has been actively involved with for the past five years.
Project Nanhi Kali, which is dedicated to the education of underprivileged girls, has long been a cause close to Taapsee's heart. RJ Abhilash, a close friend of the actor, shared a personal anecdote about how the actor refers to the girls supported by the initiative as "Taapsee ke bacche," or "Taapsee's children."
He explained, "We all know the girls supported by Taapsee as 'Taapsee ke bacche' because that’s how she introduces them … Always excitedly sharing their milestones and celebrating them as her personal victories." Abhilash highlighted that, given Taapsee and Mathias’s access to some of the most exclusive items and experiences around the world, their decision to prioritise a charitable cause over traditional wedding gifts was a testament to their values.
"I am glad that instead of a regular wedding gift, we were able to make the girls at Nanhi Kali feel a part of their wedding celebrations and contribute our bit to their vision," he said. "Nothing else would have matched up!"

Sheetal Mehta, the Trustee and Executive Director of the K.C. Mahindra Education Trust, which oversees Project Nanhi Kali, also expressed her gratitude and admiration for the couple's gesture.
"Taapsee and Mathias's commitment to girls' education with Project Nanhi Kali reflects the power of consistent, meaningful action. Since 2020, her support for 100 young girls has created ripples of change—representing not just access to quality education but the freedom to dream bigger," Mehta said.
She also acknowledged the significance of Taapsee’s involvement, noting that the actress’s dedication to the cause went beyond mere philanthropy. "What makes Taapsee's involvement special is her understanding that real change happens when we show up, stay engaged, and keep believing in every girl's potential."
For more than five years, Taapsee has been actively supporting Project Nanhi Kali, funding the education of 100 girls, and helping to provide them with the opportunity to shape their futures. While Taapsee is known for her preference to stay out of the limelight, allowing her work and actions to speak for themselves, this thoughtful gesture reveals the depth of her character.
It shows that even in the most private of celebrations, like her quiet wedding, Taapsee’s impact can be felt far beyond the glitz and glamour of the entertainment industry. In the end, it turns out that even the most discreet weddings can leave a lasting and meaningful legacy.
