Prime Minister Rishi Sunak delivered a passionate address on Friday evening, urging Britain to safeguard its democracy amid concerns of rising extremism.

Emphasizing the importance of preserving the nation's multi-faith identity, Sunak, drawing from his Hindu beliefs, highlighted the UK's enduring values of inclusivity towards migrants of all backgrounds.

Addressing a crowd outside 10 Downing Street, Sunak underscored the contributions of immigrants in shaping Britain's narrative, emphasizing their integration without compromising their identities.

He celebrated the diversity of faiths within the nation, affirming that individuals can uphold their religious convictions while being proud citizens of Britain. Expressing apprehension about ongoing attempts to undermine the country's achievements in fostering a successful multi-ethnic, multi-faith democracy, Sunak warned against internal forces seeking to sow discord.

He referenced the recent controversial victory of politician George Galloway in a Greater Manchester by-election, lamenting the divisive nature of campaigns fueled by global conflicts.

Sunak decried the hijacking of British streets by small extremist factions hostile to democratic values, highlighting the symbiotic relationship between Islamist extremists and the far right. He stressed that both groups propagate extremism, aiming to erode Britain's confidence and unity.

Acknowledging imperfections within the country, Sunak expressed pride in Britain's accomplishments, underscoring his role as the first non-white Prime Minister leading the most diverse government in history.

He emphasized meritocracy over factors such as race or religion, asserting that hard work determines success. Sunak reiterated his commitment to combating violence and intimidation, endorsing a new protocol to address threats to parliamentary members' security and violence during protests related to the Israel-Hamas conflict.

He urged collective action to confront divisive forces, emphasizing the need to resist extremism and preserve Britain's unity.

In closing, Sunak reaffirmed his love for the country, emphasizing the collective responsibility to combat division and extremism. He called upon citizens to stand united against forces seeking to tear apart the fabric of British society.
