After the United States designated the Lashkar-e-Taiba proxy, The Resistance Front (TRF), as a foreign terrorist organisation (FTO) and Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT), China strongly condemned the 22 April Pahalgam terror attack in India, which killed 26 people.
Condemning the attack, Beijing further called for broader regional cooperation to counter terrorism and ensure stability in the region. China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian praised the efforts of Washington in helping counter terror activities.
While responding to a query about the US State Department’s effort to designate the Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of a Pakistan-based terror group, he said, "China firmly opposes all forms of terrorism and strongly condemns the terrorist attack that occurred on 22 April. China calls on regional countries to enhance counterterrorism cooperation and jointly maintain regional security and stability."
In an official statement, the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, acknowledged the fact that the organisation claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam terror attack.
