A man from Hyderabad was tragically shot dead in a suspected firing by assailants in Washington DC, the United States, on Monday, just hours before Donald Trump is scheduled to take the oath as the 47th President of the United States, during an inauguration ceremony at the Capitol Rotunda in the same city.
The ceremony has, however, been shifted indoors due to severe windchill forecasts.
Ravi Teja, a resident of RK Puram Green Hills Colony in Hyderabad, had travelled to the US in March 2022 to pursue a Master’s Degree.
Upon completing his studies, he was actively seeking employment when the unfortunate incident occurred.
Local authorities are investigating the motive behind the attack and are working to identify the perpetrators, according to officials.
Meanwhile, ahead of the inauguration, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in the United States to represent India.
