India has sent 11 tonnes of additional relief material to Nepal, with the ninth Indian Air Force aircraft carrying assistance landing in Kathmandu on September 19, 2026. The supplies were handed over to the Government of Nepal to support recovery efforts after the catastrophic floods of August 26.
The consignment included tents, medicines, sleeping bags, hygiene kits and forensic supplies. India's Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, said the latest delivery reflected India's continuing support for Nepal's recovery.
The Ministry of External Affairs said the new shipment had reached Nepal and reaffirmed India's commitment to assisting the country's restoration efforts.
The latest assistance follows a meeting in New Delhi between Nepal's Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle and India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday. Wagle thanked the Indian government for its support during rescue and relief operations after the recent flash flood in Rasuwa.
The two ministers also discussed measures to strengthen the longstanding relationship between Nepal and India, with particular attention to investment, energy and connectivity.
During the previous week, India had sent another consignment containing rescue equipment and relief material, including supplies meant for tunnel operations and forensic work. The eighth Indian flight reached Kathmandu, and its cargo was handed over to Nepal's Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Mahabir Pun.
India began dispatching relief materials, specialised equipment and personnel to Nepal through nine dedicated aircraft from August 26, following the catastrophic flash floods.
