IAF Sarang Helicopters Head To Egypt Airshow For Debut.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is sending its Sarang helicopter team to participate in the first edition of the Egypt International Airshow. The event is scheduled to take place from September 3 to 5 at Al-Alamein International Airport. The IAF is deploying five Sarang helicopters, which are being transported by C-17 aircraft.

In a recent post on social media platform X, the IAF announced the departure of the Sarang team, emphasising that this participation showcases India's aviation prowess and the spirit of 'Atma Nirbharta,' or self-reliance.

The Sarang team flies the indigenously developed Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Mk1, also known as 'Dhruv,' which is a symbol of India’s growing expertise in aviation technology.

This deployment follows the recent conclusion of the first phase of India’s largest multilateral air exercise, ‘Tarang Shakti,’ which took place at Sulur Air Force Station in Tamil Nadu.

The exercise saw participation from air forces of Germany, France, Spain, and the UK. IAF Chief, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, expressed his gratitude to all the participating nations, highlighting the spirit of friendship and cooperation demonstrated during the exercise.

He noted that the exercise, which was the largest of its kind in six decades, provided an extensive platform for sharing flying and maintenance practices, as well as engaging in sports and yoga activities.

The first phase concluded successfully, and the second leg of the exercise is set to occur from August 29 to September 14 at Air Force Station Jodhpur.

During the exercise, the air chiefs of Germany, France, and Spain praised the IAF’s ability to host such a complex and large-scale event, recognizing the enhanced collaboration and operability achieved among the participating nations.

As the Royal Air Force prepares to return home, they expressed their anticipation of further strengthening the operability of their aircraft.
