The Iran-Israeli confict has escalated, with US officials confirming reports of an Israeli missile hitting Iran.
Iran has suspended flights over several cities, Iranian state media has reported.
The country's Fars news agency also reported an explosion in the north-west of Isfahan early on Friday morning.
It reportedly occured near Isfahan's international airport. The province of Isfahan has a large air base, missile production complex and nuclear sites.
State news agency IRNA also reported that the country's air defence systems had been activated in several provinces.
IRNA said the country had fired its "air defense batteries".
However, other Iranian news agencies said nuclear facilities in Isfahan province were completely safe and no incident had been recorded.
Tensions between Israel and Iran reached flashpoint after an attack on an Iranian embassy annexe by Israel in which two top Iranian generals died.
Iran had responed with a drone and missile attack on Israel.
