Israeli airstrikes have killed 64 people across Gaza in the past 24 hours, while its forces claimed to assert control over 40 per cent of Gaza city on Friday morning.
This was shared by the Israeli government on Thursday night as it is facing massive international backlash for its ongoing offensive to capture the devastated enclave. The Gaza Health ministry, on Thursday, said that Israeli strikes killed more than 30 in the city, out of 64 killed across the entire strip.
Several rights groups and international organisations, including some of the EU officials, have said that what Israel is doing in Gaza categorises what a Genocide looks like.

While Israeli forces have intensified their attacks on the enclave with 2.4 million residents, the majority of whom are now displaced inside the Gaza Strip. Tel Aviv is losing sympathy and international support for its crimes against humanity in Gaza, as its operational killing includes more than 80 per cent of the civilians. A number that has not been accepted by the international community.
In a televised address, Israeli military spokesman Brigadier General Effie Defrin said that "we hold 40 per cent of the territory of Gaza City", adding that the offensive "will continue to expand and intensify in the coming days".

Defrin vowed to "increase the pressure" on Palestinian militant group Hamas, whose October 2023 attack on Israel sparked the war, "until it is defeated". Meanwhile, the EU Commission Vice President Teresa Ribera, while addressing the media in Paris, called the war a "genocide" and slammed the 27-nation bloc for failing to act to stop it.
"The genocide in Gaza exposes Europe's failure to act and speak with one voice," Ribera said, in remarks slammed by Israel as serving "Hamas propaganda".
Israel’s war on Gaza has killed nearly 64,000 people in Gaza and injured more than 150,000, while leaving tens of thousands buried under the rubble since the operation began in October 2023.
