Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hopes to reach a ceasefire agreement, which may happen in the coming days. Ten Israeli captives currently held by Hamas would be released, if the talks go well.
Meanwhile, the Israeli forces have intensified their aerial and ground onslaught on Gaza, killing as many as 82 Palestinians, including nine aid seekers, across the besieged territory in the past 24 hours, said the Gaza health ministry, which the UN considers credible.
This comes at a time when fighting in Gaza, Diplomatic efforts taking place in Qatar, and the negotiations between US President Donald Trump and Netanyahu are happening simultaneously.
Egypt and China have expressed strong criticism for any displacement of the people in Gaza and demanded a reconstruction plan in the occupied enclave. These remarks came after Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi received the premier of the State Council of China, Li Qiang, yesterday, in the presence of Egyptian Prime Minister MostafaMadbouly, according to a statement by the presidency in Cairo. Both parties have said that reaching a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip was the most crucial step towards achieving lasting peace.

They also criticised the ongoing Israeli blockade of the territory, emphasising the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid and the importance of reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.
Further, the two sides called for international support to implement the Arab-initiated project for rebuilding the war-torn Gaza. The plan envisions the establishment of a “Gaza Management Committee” to manage the Gaza Strip during a six-month transitional period. Additionally, Israel’s invasion of Gaza has killed as many as 57,762 and injured more than 137,656, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
