At least 11 people were killed and 20 others injured when a powerful bomb exploded at a police checkpost in Aman Mela near Darazinda in Dera Ismail Khan on September 26.
The blast took place at the security post near Mughal Kot and Darazinda on the DI Khan-Quetta Road, close to the volatile border between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
The deceased include eight men, two women and a child. Rescue teams continued efforts to retrieve victims from the debris following the explosion.
Several police personnel, customs officials and two civilians were among those injured. Emergency responders provided initial treatment to all 20 wounded people, after which 18 were moved to medical facilities in Darazinda and Mufti Mahmood Hospital in DI Khan for further care.
District Emergency Officer Muhammad Arif Khan directed Rescue 1122 to send four additional ambulances, along with medical staff, from DI Khan to support the evacuation and relief operations.
Bomb disposal teams were also deployed to examine the site and determine the nature and cause of the explosion.
The Aman Mela post is used by law enforcement agencies to monitor movement and carry out checks along the DI Khan-Quetta route.
