Burkina Faso's President Ibrahim Traore has appointed Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo as the new Prime Minister of the country.
This announcement was made public through a presidential decree, which was read out on national television by the General Secretary of the government, Mathias Traore.
The decree confirmed that Ouedraogo would assume the role of Prime Minister, replacing the former head of government.
Ouedraogo had previously held the position of Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts, and Tourism, which positioned him well to take on his new responsibilities.
This decision comes after President Traore dismissed the former Prime Minister, Apollinaire Joachimson Kyelem de Tambela, and dissolved the existing government on Friday.
The appointment of Ouedraogo is a significant shift in the leadership structure, and many are keenly observing how this change will influence the direction of the country moving forward.
The political landscape of Burkina Faso has seen rapid changes in recent times, with new leadership appointments reflecting the country’s ongoing efforts to address challenges, particularly concerning national security and governance.
