In an attempt to target the worst and most feared criminals in the United States, Donald Trump’s administration has launched a new immigration enforcement operation in Chicago.
Trump has directed the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to carry out “Operation Midway Blitz” to locate, track, and deport illegal aliens from the country.
Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement that Governor Pritzker and his “fellow sanctuary politicians released Tren de Aragua gang members, rapists, kidnappers, and drug traffickers onto Chicago’s streets. We are deporting them all, with absolute authority, adding that they should not be on US soil.”
According to official statistics from the US Department of Homeland Security, “crime rates in non-American communities, with a few exceptions, are significantly higher. Criminal records suggest that illegal aliens are involved in all sorts of crimes, putting the lives of US citizens at risk.”

The ratio is said to be even more alarming in black and Latin American communities, where conviction rates are reportedly higher than in other groups. The majority of these crimes, according to officials, are committed by organised gangs, cartels, and crime syndicates operating within the United States.
Meanwhile, Democrat Governor Pritzker has been engaged in a war of words with Trump, posting on X that the operation “isn’t about fighting crime” because Washington had not coordinated with Chicago authorities. He accused the Trump administration of focusing on “scaring Illinoisians.”
The DHS statement included a list of names, images, and rap sheets for 11 “criminal illegal aliens” who, it said, had been released back onto Illinois streets and are now sought for arrest.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote on Monday: “I want to help the people of Chicago, not hurt them. Only the criminals will be hurt!” However, he also issued a series of threats, saying: “Chicago is about to find out why it’s called the Department of WAR.”
