Four Democrats Urge Trump to End Gaza War Urgently.

Amid a worsening humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza, four Democrats in the House of Representatives urged US President Donald Trump on Friday to end the war in the Gaza Strip as a priority.

Representatives Rosa DeLauro, Gregory Meeks, Jim Himes, and Jamie Raskin sent a letter to Trump with a “deep sense of urgency and moral responsibility.”

However, Trump has recently asked Israel to force Hamas to settle the Gaza war, which Israel, with all its might and backing from the international community, has not been able to achieve for the past 22 months.

Meanwhile, the representatives said that the current war in Gaza has reached a point of profound humanitarian crisis, geopolitical instability, and perilous risk for all involved.

The lawmakers further stated, “We request you to use the full extent of US diplomacy to bring an immediate, just, and lasting end to the conflict that would make the lives of those affected by the ongoing war a little easier.”

The lawmakers also said that there is nothing left to achieve in this war for Israel, and that it has come to an end by all means.

The continuation of fighting in Gaza is not only threatening for the Palestinians and Israelis but also for the entire region.

The humanitarian situation unfolding in Gaza is doing Israel no favours on the international front, as more countries have joined hands to recognise Palestine, reflecting how frustrated the international community has become with the State of Israel.

“Now is the time for you to bring all relevant parties — Israel, Palestinian leaders, regional stakeholders, alongside the United States and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff — back to the negotiating table without delay,” said the lawmakers.
