United States Vice President JD Vance has said that his country would be providing military aid to Ukraine following Russia’s refusal to engage in negotiations.
This comes after Ukraine’s back-to-back drone attacks on Russian energy and oil infrastructure recently.
Also, Vance said that President Trump has increasingly become impatient with the slow peace process in Ukraine. Moscow, however, has said that with the recent attacks, Kyiv has clarified its stance that it was not interested in peace.
The attacks have come in the wake of the latest Russian assault on the eastern front of the battle lines, including the Donbas region.
Meanwhile, Vance said, “Unfortunately, what we have seen over the last couple of weeks is that the Russians have refused to sit down for any bilateral meetings with the Ukrainians.”

He added, “The Russian side has refused to sit down for any trilateral meetings, where the US president, along with members from his administration, will sit down with Russians and Ukrainians.”
According to Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to meet Trump if the US leader chooses to take up the invitation and visit Moscow. The offer was extended shortly after their summit in Alaska in August.
“This invitation still stands,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Sunday. “Putin is ready and will be glad to meet President Trump. It will then all depend on Trump’s decision.”
In the wake of recent developments and as part of an arrangement between Kyiv and Washington, “We will supply Tomahawk cruise missiles to thwart Russian air assets,” he said.
