The upcoming meeting between the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his US counterpart, Donald Trump, could replicate a disastrous Oval Office confrontation earlier this year.
The report said that Zelensky, joined by EU officials, is set to meet President Trump on Monday to discuss the settlement of the Ukraine conflict. After the talks, Trump, during his joint press conference with Putin, said that the “two leaders were pretty close to ending the conflict in Ukraine.” He is reportedly drafting a plan requiring Kyiv to cede parts of Donbass still under its control in exchange for a Kremlin halt to hostilities elsewhere. Zelensky has repeatedly rejected any territorial concessions.
