National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah said on Saturday that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are suffering because of wrong policies.
Abdullah criticised the Union Home Minister for hitting out at the National Conference and saying it was promoting terrorism in the region following his rally on Saturday.
The NC leader said, “People here suffer because of the current situation and want solutions. FIRs have been registered against youth and (they) are being kept in jail outside J&K.”
Shah said on Saturday that people of J&K suffered under NC, PDP, and Congress rule for 35 years, adding that over 40,000 people were killed during the reign of these three parties in J&K.”
Abdullah said that the Union Minister should decide first on whom to blame for terrorism in J&K.
“He should come clean and should tell us all who is responsible for terrorism in J&K.”
Their rhetoric changes when they talk in other parts of the country compared to when they speak here. "When the BJP talks in the rest of India, they blame Pakistan for that, but in J&K, they blame NC and Congress,” Abdullah said.
“If this is what they (BJP) truly believe that NC-Congress are responsible for terrorism, then why aren’t they talking to Pakistan? If we are the ones responsible, then talk to Pakistan, because they are not.”
On Saturday, Amit Shah said, “Jammu and Kashmir was burning in the fire of terror for 35 years under the rule of these three families: the Gandhi family, the
Mufti family, and the Abdullah family. The NC has released an agenda that is being supported by Rahul Gandhi’s Congress party.”
