Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal is reportedly facing a perilous situation within Tihar jail, as alleged by AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj on Saturday.
This assertion follows a recent court hearing where AAP sought provisions for insulin and medical consultations for Kejriwal while in confinement.
Bhardwaj reiterated the party's accusation against the jail authorities, claiming a deliberate denial of insulin to Kejriwal, who grapples with Type-2 diabetes.
He stated, "I want to say with full responsibility that a conspiracy is underway for the slow death of Kejriwal," citing purported blood sugar readings from the chief minister's time in detention.
Bhardwaj slammed the Tihar administration, as well as the BJP, Centre, and Delhi LG, for their alleged role in withholding necessary medical assistance from Kejriwal.
Earlier in the week, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raised eyebrows by alleging that Kejriwal had consumed foods like mangoes, aloo-poori, and sugar-laden tea to elevate his sugar levels, potentially to bolster a medical bail plea.
However, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, representing Kejriwal, refuted these claims during Friday's court hearing. Singhvi dismissed the notion, countering ED's assertions about Kejriwal's dietary habits and the frequency of mango consumption.
Kejriwal himself addressed the court, vehemently denying ED's allegations and affirming adherence to a diet chart prepared by his doctor, emphasizing the use of sugar-free alternatives in his tea.
Bhardwaj further alleged a broader conspiracy to inflict organ damage upon Kejriwal, positing, "Overall, it was a conspiracy to finish Kejriwal with his multiple organ damage."
He expressed concerns that upon Kejriwal's release from jail in the coming months, he may require extensive treatment for kidney, heart, and other organ-related ailments.
Arvind Kejriwal's arrest last month in connection with a money laundering probe linked to the Delhi excise policy case has sparked a flurry of controversy, with AAP vehemently protesting the treatment meted out to their party leader during his incarceration.
