Former CM Arvind Kejriwal Shifts To Party MPs Bungalow In Delhi.

Arvind Kejriwal, the former Chief Minister of Delhi, has recently vacated his official residence located at 6, Flagstaff Road. He has moved to a new address within the Lutyens’ Zone, specifically to a bungalow at 5 Ferozshah Road. This bungalow is currently allotted to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal.

The AAP has hailed Kejriwal's decision as an "example of sacrifice," expressing confidence that the public will recognize his integrity and support him in becoming Chief Minister once again.

The party's social media post emphasised Kejriwal’s commitment to the public and his dedication to serving the people of Delhi. They described him as the hero of “politics of work,” highlighting his significant contributions to improving living conditions in the capital, such as ensuring electricity supply to millions of homes.

The transition follows Kejriwal's resignation as Chief Minister on September 17, a decision that came after he was released on bail from Tihar Jail concerning an ongoing investigation related to the excise policy case.

AAP confirmed that Kejriwal would temporarily reside at the bungalow of Ashok Mittal. The MP had personally extended the invitation for Kejriwal to stay in his official residence, underscoring the camaraderie among AAP members.

Ashok Mittal expressed his happiness about the arrangement, stating that he was honoured to host Kejriwal. He shared that upon learning that Kejriwal did not have a home to return to after his resignation, he offered his residence to him.

Mittal expressed optimism about Kejriwal's political future, hoping that the public would continue to support him in the upcoming elections, which are anticipated to take place in February 2025.

Kejriwal has indicated that he is willing to return to the Chief Minister's office only if he receives a renewed mandate from the people and a “certificate of honesty.” His return to power would depend on the outcome of the upcoming assembly polls.

As Kejriwal settles into his temporary home at 5 Ferozshah Road, he aims to reconnect with the people of Delhi. His departure from the official residence symbolises a significant shift in his political journey. Kejriwal’s family accompanied him during this transition, emphasising the personal nature of this change.

With this move, Kejriwal is stepping away from the trappings of official power and choosing to reside in a location offered by a fellow party member, highlighting a spirit of unity and support within the AAP. As the party prepares for the upcoming elections, Kejriwal’s actions may serve to bolster his image as a leader who prioritises integrity and transparency.

The upcoming elections present an opportunity for Kejriwal to showcase his leadership and commitment to the people of Delhi. His recent decisions and public statements indicate that he remains focused on earning the trust of the electorate. By moving to a bungalow allocated to a party member, he aims to reaffirm his connection to the grassroots and demonstrate his dedication to serving the public.
