In a significant development in the tragic suicide case of Bengaluru techie Atul Subhash, a city court on Saturday granted bail to his wife, Nikita Singhania, and her family members, Nisha Singhania (his mother-in-law) and Anurag Singhania (his brother-in-law), who had been arrested on charges of abetment.

Atul Subhash, an Artificial Intelligence engineer, tragically died by suicide on December 9. Before his death, he accused his wife and her family of harassment, including false cases and emotional distress, in a 24-page suicide note he left behind.

Atul’s note and a haunting 81-minute-long video that he posted on social media conveyed his emotional turmoil. In the video titled "This ATM is closed permanently.

A legal genocide is happening in India", Atul accused the legal system of discrimination against men. He shared the video with alarming messages, including one directed at prominent figures like Elon Musk and Donald Trump, claiming he would be dead by the time they saw it.

The three accused, Nikita, Nisha, and Anurag, were initially arrested on December 14, after being taken into custody from different locations. Nikita was arrested in Gurugram, while her family members were detained in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

Following their arrest, they were sent to 14 days of judicial custody after appearing before a Bengaluru court.

While Nikita denied the allegations, claiming she had been living separately from Atul for almost three years, the tragic incident has left Atul’s father grieving and calling for the custody of his grandchildren. He also appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for intervention, fearing for the wellbeing of his grandson.
