‘Had concrete evidence against YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra of her spying for Pakistan’, media reports have alleged.

 

The 2,500-page-long chargesheet filed against Jyoti aka Jyoti Rana says that she was spying for Pakistan for a long time. Malhotra was arrested on charges of espionage in May from Hisar, Haryana, post Operation Sindoor.  

 

The police noted that Jyoti visited Pakistan twice and was close to Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish at the Pakistan High Commission. Ehsan was declared persona non grata and was given a time stamp of 24 hours to leave India after he was found guilty of espionage charges and leaking sensitive information on the Indian Army’s movement.

 

 

"During the investigation, we have found concrete evidence that the YouTuber was spying for Pakistan. Earlier, when Malhotra went to Pakistan via the Kartarpur Corridor, she met the chief minister of Pakistan Punjab and former PM Nawaz Sharif's daughter, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, and interviewed her," the source was quoted as saying by the media reports.

 

As per the chargesheet, Jyoti went to Pakistan on April 17, 2024, and returned to India on May 15.
