The Delhi Assembly elections, scheduled for early next year, have sparked intense preparations across political parties. Delhi Congress Chief Devender Yadav has made it clear that his party will contest all 70 seats without any alliances.

Yadav reiterated the party’s stance after attending the Congress Working Committee meeting, emphasizing that the Congress will follow its tradition of announcing its chief ministerial candidate only after winning the elections.

He dismissed the idea of any collaboration with other parties, signaling a direct contest with the ruling AAP and the BJP.

Yadav highlighted the discontent among Delhi’s residents with the current AAP government, calling out its shortcomings. According to him, senior citizens are struggling without pensions, the poor are being denied ration cards, roads are in disrepair, pollution is unmanageable, and inflation has hit women hard.

He criticized the much-touted Mohalla Clinics initiative, calling it superficial and ineffective. Yadav also took aim at youth unemployment and accused the Kejriwal government of failing to deliver on its promises.

To strengthen its campaign, the Congress has appointed Priyavrat Singh as the chairman of the party’s “war room” for the Delhi elections. The move comes as the party strives to regain its foothold in the capital after failing to win any seats in the past two assembly elections.

Congress, which once ruled Delhi for 15 consecutive years, is keen to revive its position and challenge its rivals.

The BJP, meanwhile, is equally determined to make a strong comeback. Riding on its recent victories in Maharashtra and Haryana, the party has intensified its efforts in Delhi.

BJP Delhi President Virendra Sachdeva exuded confidence in his party’s chances, citing the enthusiasm generated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Sachdeva accused the current government of corruption and mismanagement, promising a clean and transparent administration under BJP rule. He expressed optimism that the voters of Delhi, dissatisfied with the present governance, would support the BJP in the upcoming polls.

The Delhi BJP Manifesto Committee has already held its initial meeting under the chairmanship of senior leader Ramvir Singh Bidhuri. The party is gearing up to address key issues and present a compelling vision to the electorate.

With its focus on replicating its recent electoral successes, the BJP aims to position itself as the party of change and accountability in Delhi.

The ruling AAP, led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, is also preparing to defend its governance model. While the party remains confident in its ability to retain power, it faces mounting criticism from the opposition over its handling of critical issues like pollution, public infrastructure, and welfare schemes.
