Atishi, Delhi's Water Minister, has entered the third day of her hunger strike, pressing for Delhi's rightful water supply from Haryana.

The AAP released a statement highlighting concerns about her health, indicating a drastic drop in blood pressure and blood sugar levels during a recent health check. According to the press release, Atishi's weight has also decreased noticeably since she began her fast.

Comparing the initial day of her strike to the third, Atishi's blood sugar levels have fallen by 26 units, while her diastolic blood pressure has dropped to 56 mmHg. Doctors have warned that such rapid declines pose serious health risks.

Additionally, Atishi's urine ketone levels have turned positive, indicating a potential increase in ketone levels if the hunger strike persists. Medical experts have cautioned that elevated ketone levels could further endanger her health in the days ahead.

Atishi remains resolute in her stance, vowing to continue her hunger strike until the Haryana government ensures Delhi's water rights are upheld and the gates of the Hathnikund Barrage are reopened.

The AAP has emphasised the critical nature of securing adequate water supplies for the 28 lakh residents of Delhi affected by the ongoing crisis.
