Public Works Department Minister Parvesh Verma has taken a significant step to accelerate development in Delhi by ensuring direct communication between MLAs and officials.
His office announced that MLAs are now directly presenting the problems of their constituencies, allowing for immediate instructions to be issued to the concerned departments for resolution.
Verma stated that previous administrations failed to act due to a lack of intent, but the BJP government is now working on a war footing to bring relief to Delhi residents. He assured that visible changes will be seen within the next 100 days as development projects are expedited.
A high-level meeting was convened to address various long-standing issues, with officials from the Public Works Department, Delhi Jal Board, and the Irrigation & Flood Control Department in attendance.
Localized problem-solving was prioritised, with officials from specific zones participating in discussions relevant to their constituencies.
Key issues raised in the meeting included road and drain repairs, sewer cleaning, flood management, encroachment removal, and the acceleration of pending development projects.
The minister stressed that concrete steps are being taken to repair roads, clean sewers, and improve drainage systems, ensuring better living conditions for the people of Delhi.
Constituencies such as Trilokpuri, Patparganj, Laxmi Nagar, Mundka, Nangloi Jat, Moti Nagar, Madipur, Manglapuri, Shakarpur, and Kirari were among those discussed in detail. Verma assured that the government is committed to resolving issues across all regions of Delhi.
Reaffirming the BJP government’s dedication to governance, Verma stated that their focus is not just politics but serving the people of Delhi. He added that the administration is determined to fulfil its promises by delivering tangible improvements in infrastructure and public services.
