The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi has been improving slightly since Sunday, with pollution levels dropping below the 300-mark on Monday morning. The city's AQI has now moved into the 'poor' category.
By 7:30 am on Monday, none of the 38 monitoring stations in Delhi recorded AQI levels in the 'severe' category. According to the SAMEER app, which provides hourly updates on the National Air Quality Index, the AQI at Lodhi Road was at the 'satisfactory' level.
Delhi AQI Today – Key Points:
AQI in the Green Zone: Delhi saw some improvement, with the Lodhi Road (IITM) monitoring station recording an AQI of 95, classified as 'satisfactory' by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
However, hazy conditions remained in most areas.
24-Hour Average AQI: As of 7:30 am on Monday, the 24-hour average AQI was 279, which falls under the 'poor' category. This is a significant drop from Sunday morning when the AQI crossed 450, marking the season’s highest pollution levels.
Best and Worst AQI:
The most polluted area was Shadipur, with an AQI of 347, categorised as 'very poor.'
The least polluted area was Lodhi Road (IITM), with an AQI of 95, in the 'satisfactory' range.
Other areas such as RK Puram (275), Sirifort (267), Sri Aurobindo Marg (227), ITO (234), and IGI Airport (260) had AQI levels in the 'poor' category.

The CPCB identified PM2.5 as the main pollutant, with its levels recorded at 138 at 3 pm.
GRAP Restrictions: Last Monday, Delhi recorded the highest AQI of the season at 495, triggering Stage 4 restrictions under the Supreme Court-mandated Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).
Delhi Weather Forecast: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted moderate fog for Monday, with temperatures expected to reach a high of 28°C and a low of 12°C.
