Delhi CM Rekha Gupta to Announce Mahila Samriddhi Yojana Today.

On International Women's Day, the Delhi government is set to introduce the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, a scheme aimed at providing financial assistance to women from economically weaker sections.

The announcement is expected to take place at the Mahila Diwas programme at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is likely to officially launch the scheme, which was a key poll promise of the BJP during the Delhi Assembly elections. Under the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana, eligible women will receive ₹2,500 per month as financial support.

To qualify for the scheme, women residing in Delhi between the ages of 18 and 60 must have an annual family income of less than ₹3 lakh. Additionally, applicants should not be government employees or beneficiaries of other financial aid schemes.

The Delhi government is currently working on an online portal for registration, which will allow applicants to submit their details and required documents digitally.

The IT department is developing dedicated software to verify applications, ensuring that only eligible candidates receive benefits.

While the exact list of required documents is yet to be released, key documents such as Aadhaar card, ration card, address proof, and a registered mobile number will likely be necessary.

The application forms will be linked to Aadhaar numbers, and automated verification will ensure that duplicate applications or ineligible candidates are filtered out.

The launch of the scheme was initially delayed due to a postponed cabinet meeting, but discussions on its rules and criteria are expected to take place today.

During the Mahila Diwas event, senior BJP leaders, including Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, Vanitha Srinivas, and Bansuri Swaraj, are also expected to attend.

The scheme is being introduced as part of the government's efforts to empower women economically and provide financial stability to those in need.

Authorities have urged eligible women to prepare the necessary documents for registration once the official portal goes live.
