Vice-President of India and Rajya Sabha Chairman, Jagdeep Dhankhar, engaged with Members of Parliament from various political parties at Parliament House on Friday.
During the session, Dhankhar took a jibe at Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha. He stated that Chadha seemed "obsessed" with issues related to the Trump administration in the US.
Dhankhar remarked, "I did not reveal the subject to the house. Let me do it now. You're severely obsessed with this issue of what Trump or someone else is doing. The minister has categorically stated...ask your second supplementary, which is a little Indianised," Dhankhar told Chadha.

In response, Chadha asserted that he was "severely obsessed" with issues that harm India's interests, particularly its economic welfare. He added, "I am severely obsessed with anything that hurts India's interest and, particularly, the Indian economy. This is what brings me to the house, and I will continue to raise every issue that hurts my country passionately."
Earlier, Chadha had criticised the 26 per cent reciprocal tariffs imposed by the US on India. He claimed that these tariffs could "wreck" the Indian economy. "We offered unflinching loyalty, but in return, the Trump Administration has imposed the Trump Tariff, which could wreck the Indian economy," Chadha wrote on X.
Chadha further criticised the government's response, recalling how India had removed a tax called the 'Google tax' to benefit American companies. "What did we get in return? These tariffs will have a huge impact on our companies," he said.
Chadha's remarks have sparked a debate over the economic implications of US policies on India.
