The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed its closure report on the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. However, the lawyer representing Disha Salian’s father insists the report holds no legal value. He claims the court can still order further investigation.
Speaking to the media, Advocate Nilesh C Ojha said, “No clean chit has been given. People are spreading false narratives. This closure report has no legal weight. The court can still take cognisance, issue an arrest warrant, or order a new probe. This happened in the Aarushi Talwar case.”
Ojha represents the family of Disha Salian. They have demanded a fresh investigation into her death. They also seek an interrogation of UBT-Shiv Sena leader Aditya Thackeray.
Disha was found dead on 8 June 2020. Just days later, on 14 June, Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging in his Bandra flat. His death caused a national outcry. The case was later handed over to the CBI.

Sources say the agency has now submitted its closure report in a Mumbai court. This comes nearly five years after Rajput’s death.
Sushant’s post-mortem was conducted at Mumbai’s Cooper Hospital. The report stated the cause of death as asphyxia.
Meanwhile, the Bombay High Court has taken up a writ petition in Disha’s case. A hearing is scheduled for 2 April.
Aditya Thackeray has repeatedly denied any links to the case. He accused his critics of trying to defame him for five years.
“A lot of people have tried to malign me. If the matter is in court, I will respond there,” he told the media.
The controversy continues as families of both Sushant and Disha demand justice. Whether the court reopens the case remains to be seen.
