On Thursday morning, a Dubai-bound IndiGo flight originating from Surat, Gujarat, was forced to make an emergency landing at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. The pilots made the decision to divert the flight after the aircraft experienced a technical malfunction.
Following the emergency landing, the passengers faced a two-hour delay. IndiGo promptly arranged for a replacement flight, ensuring that all passengers were able to continue their journey to Dubai.
This incident follows a similar event that occurred approximately a month earlier. On July 15, an IndiGo flight, 6E 6271, travelling from Delhi to Goa, was rerouted to Mumbai and landed under a full emergency protocol. Sources reported that one of the aircraft's engines had failed. The plane safely landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai at 9:42 pm.
An IndiGo spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating that a technical snag was detected on flight 6E 6271 while it was en route from Delhi to the Manohar International Airport in Goa.
