The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a supplementary Prosecution Complaint, or chargesheet, against Robert Vadra, husband of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, in connection with the Shikohpur land deal case.
This comes after Vadra was named in a case that was initially filed in September 2018 along with former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, real estate company DLF, local real estate dealer, and then Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
The FIR filed at the time includes serious charges such as corruption, cheating, and forgery. According to the ED, Vadra’s company had purchased a 3.5-acre plot in Shikohpur village in Gurugram from a firm named Omkareshwar Properties for ₹7.5 crore in February 2008. Later, the same land was sold to real estate major DLF for ₹58 crore.
According to the reports the Enforcement Directorate is closely monitoring the financial transactions and money flow related to the deal because it believes that this significant profit may be connected to money laundering activities. The agency's ongoing efforts to track down the money's source and look into whether any illegal gains were made during the process are included in the supplemental chargesheet.
