Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said India’s international partnerships are purposefully structured to benefit the country’s youth by creating employment opportunities and providing global exposure.
Addressing a virtual ‘Rozgar Mela’ after distributing appointment letters to more than 51,000 newly recruited central government employees, Modi said young people would play a decisive role in realising the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.
Sharing insights from his recently concluded five-country visit covering the UAE, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy, the prime minister said leaders of major global corporations had expressed strong confidence in India’s youth and technological capabilities.
“The world wants to be a part of India’s development journey,” Modi said.
“The purpose is that India’s youth get employment and global exposure,” he added while referring to India’s growing international partnerships.
Modi outlined a series of sector-specific agreements and discussions held during the tour. He said talks with the Netherlands focused on semiconductors, water, agriculture and advanced manufacturing, while discussions with Sweden centred on artificial intelligence and digital innovation.
He said India also expanded cooperation with Norway in green technology and maritime sectors, signed strategic energy and technology agreements with the UAE, and concluded deals with Italy in defence, critical minerals, science and technology.
“These are the sectors that will shape industries and define global growth for the next 25 years,” Modi said.
Highlighting the ASML-Tata Electronics agreement as a major milestone, Modi said India was among only a handful of countries with which the Dutch semiconductor giant had signed such an accord.

“This ASML-Tata Electronics agreement alone will create thousands of new employment opportunities in India,” he said.
The prime minister said partnerships in AI, supercomputing, clean energy, green hydrogen and sustainable manufacturing would significantly strengthen India’s technological and industrial ecosystem.
“These partnerships are opening the doors of a new economy and new opportunities,” he said.
Modi also highlighted ongoing cooperation with the UAE and Norway in ports, shipping and maritime infrastructure, saying the agreements would strengthen India’s shipbuilding sector and create opportunities for engineers, technicians and skilled workers.
“New opportunities will be created for India’s engineers, technicians and skilled workers,” he said.
Referring to India’s growing startup ecosystem, Modi said the country now has more than 2.3 lakh recognised startups, making it the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem.
He noted that entrepreneurship and innovation were no longer limited to metropolitan cities, with youth from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities increasingly driving the startup movement.
The prime minister also highlighted the growing participation of women entrepreneurs in India’s expanding innovation economy.
Welcoming the newly appointed government employees, Modi urged them to contribute actively across sectors such as railways, banking, defence, healthcare and education.
He also stressed the importance of “Ease of Doing Business”, asking government employees to remain sensitive to the needs of businesses and entrepreneurs.
The ‘Rozgar Mela’, held at 47 locations across the country, is part of the government’s employment generation initiative aimed at accelerating recruitment in various ministries and departments.
