Officials have stated that Nikki Bhati, a woman suspected to be a victim of dowry-related violence, died from burn injuries sustained in a gas cylinder explosion at her home. This conclusion is based on statements provided by the doctors and nurses at the private hospital where she was initially treated.

According to a hospital memo, Bhati was admitted on August 21 in a critical condition after suffering severe burns from a "gas cylinder explosion at home". She was brought to the hospital by a cousin of her husband, Vipin Bhati.

A police official confirmed that investigators have recorded statements from the medical staff present during her admission. "Nikki told them that she sustained burns due to a blast in a gas cylinder," the official noted.

While the police are investigating all angles of the case, new details are emerging amid prior allegations that her husband and in-laws set her on fire due to dowry demands. An inflammable liquid discovered in Bhati's room has been sent for forensic analysis. Additionally, investigators are reviewing several video clips of the incident that are circulating publicly.
