Unidentified assailants opened fire outside the residence of controversial YouTuber and Bigg Boss winner Elvish Yadav in Gurugram early Sunday morning, police said.

 

The incident occurred between 5.30 and 6 a.m. in Sector 57, when three bike-borne attackers sprayed more than two dozen rounds at the multi-storey house before fleeing. Bullets riddled the ground and first floors of the property, while Yadav’s family members and caretaker were inside.

 

Yadav, who resides on the second and third floors of the house, was not present during the attack. No injuries were reported.

 

“Three masked miscreants opened fire outside the residence of YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav in Gurugram’s Sector 57. The incident took place at around 5.30 a.m. More than a dozen rounds were fired. Elvish Yadav was not at his residence at the time of the firing,” said Sandeep Kumar, PRO Gurugram Police.

Police teams reached the scene shortly after the firing, collected forensic evidence, and began examining CCTV footage from nearby areas. Officials confirmed that legal proceedings are being initiated, and further action will follow once the family files a formal complaint.

 

According to Yadav’s father, the family had not received any threats before the incident. The YouTuber is currently outside Haryana.

 

“We were sleeping when the attackers came on a motorcycle and started firing. There were three masked men. One was sitting on the bike, while the other two stepped down and opened fire at the house. They fired around 25 to 30 rounds and fled the scene. Elvish did not receive any threats before the incident. He is currently out of the city for his work,” Yadav’s father told reporters.

 

Elvish Yadav, 27, first rose to fame as a YouTuber before winning Bigg Boss OTT 2 in 2023. He commands a massive following online and has featured in several music videos and films.

 

The social media star has also courted controversy. Last year, he was arrested by Noida Police in connection with an alleged case involving snake venom at rave parties.

 

Police alleged that cobra venom was being supplied as a recreational drug, with Yadav accused of facilitating the arrangements. He was later granted bail but continues to face charges in the case.
