The Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to host a grand airshow at Marina Beach in Chennai on October 6 to mark its 92nd Air Force Day.
Rathish Kumar VM, Air Officer Commanding at Tambaram Air Force Station, announced that fighter jets, including the Tejas and Sukhoi Su-30, along with the Surya Kiran aerobatics team, will showcase India's air strength with 72 aircraft participating.
Themed "Potent, Powerful, and Self-reliant," this year's event, titled Bhartiya Vayu Sena— Saksham, Sashakt, Atmanirbhar, highlights the IAF's commitment to protecting India's airspace.
The airshow, which will feature stunning aerobatic displays, can be viewed along the beaches from Kovalam to Marina.
The annual Air Force Day commemorates the induction of the IAF into India's armed forces in 1932.
The IAF has been involved in major operations such as Operation Vijay, Operation Meghdoot, Operation Cactus, and Operation Poomalai since 1950.
