Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended his warm congratulations to Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leader Tarique Rahman following his party's decisive victory in the national parliamentary elections.

 

While posting on the social media, Modi emphasised the point that the election results are a reflection of the people of Bangladesh’s trust in Rahman.

Thus, reaffirming India’s commitment towards its neighbor, the Prime Minister announced, “India will continue to support Bangladesh in its journey towards becoming a democratic, progressive, and inclusive nation. We are eager to work with the new leadership in Bangladesh in taking forward the multifaceted relations between the two countries.”
