The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced the operation of special trains connecting Guwahati with destinations in Odisha and Jammu & Kashmir anticipation a surge in passenger demand during the upcoming summer months.

Ten roundtrip journeys are scheduled, with departures from Sambalpur occurring every Monday at 6:50 pm, reaching Guwahati by 1:20 pm on Wednesdays.
The return journey will depart Guwahati every Wednesday at 8:00 pm, arriving in Sambalpur at 4:15 pm the following day.
Stops are planned at key stations including Kamakhya, New Bongaigaon, New Jalpaiguri, and Kharagpur.
Addressing the needs of pilgrims visiting the revered shrine of Vaishno Devi, IRCTC will also operate a special train service between Guwahati and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra from April 26th to June 28th.
Ten roundtrip journeys are planned, with departures from Katra occurring every Friday at 9:30 pm, reaching Guwahati by 7:10 pm on Sundays.
The return journey will include stops at major stations like Jammu Tawi, Ludhiana, and Gorakhpur.
This initiative by IRCTC aims to provide convenient travel options for passengers during the peak summer season, particularly those visiting religious sites or seeking a change of scenery.
