An intruder scaled a wall with a ladder and entered the Parliament premises.

A significant security breach was reported at the Parliament complex on Friday morning. An intruder gained entry to the premises by climbing a wall using a ladder.

Sources indicate the incident occurred at approximately 6:30 am. The individual scaled the wall from the direction of Rail Bhavan and successfully reached the Garud Dwar of the new Parliament building. Security personnel stationed within the complex immediately apprehended the intruder and took him into custody for questioning.

The local police became aware of the incident through media reports. Officials stated that after Parliament Security completes its own interrogation, the intruder will be handed over to the local police for further questioning.

Currently, the Parliament Security Wing is conducting the interrogation.

No Members of Parliament were present in the building at the time of the security breach. The incident took place just one day after the Monsoon session of Parliament was adjourned sine die.

This is not the first time Parliament's security has been compromised recently. In December of last year, on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament attack, two individuals jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery. They deployed canisters that released a yellow-colored smoke, causing panic among the Members of Parliament.

Six individuals—Manoranjan D, Sagar Sharma, Amol Dhanraj Shinde, Neelam Azad, Lalit Jha, and Mahesh Kumawat—have been arrested in connection with that previous security breach.
