Due to the effect of cold winds blowing continuously from the north-western direction of the country towards Jharkhand, the weather in the state is extremely cold.
In the last 24 hours, the lowest temperature of 4.4℃ has been recorded in the Kanke area of Ranchi. On the other hand the maximum temperature of the State has been recorded at 28℃ in Chaibasa, West Singhbhum.
For the last several days, a period of biting cold has been continuing in the state.
Despite a slight increase in the minimum temperature in the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature in more than 10 districts of Jharkhand has remained below 10℃.
The Meteorological Center, Ranchi has issued a forecast of a decrease in the minimum temperature by 02-03℃ again after an increase of 02 to 03℃ in the minimum temperature for the next two-three days. Also, the Center has issued a yellow alert of dense fog in the northern and south-eastern districts of the state on the morning of January 6 and 7.
According to the Meteorological Centera yellow alert has been issued for dense fog in Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Koderma, Giridih, Deoghar, Godda, Sahibganj, Pakur, Dumka, Jamtara, Hazaribagh, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Saraikela Kharsawan districts.
The Meteorological Department has forecast that light to moderate fog and mist will be seen in the morning of January 6 to 7. There is a possibility of scattered clouds in the sky as the day progresses.
There is also a possibility of dense fog in many areas. After 07 January, the sky is likely to clear with the day after fog and mist in the morning.
