The National Medical Commission (NMC), its Autonomous Boards, and the Search Committee have all chosen part-time members under the direction of Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda. As required by the National Medical Commission Act of 2019, the appointments were made by drawing lots.
These members will serve a term of two years. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the process followed the provisions of the NMC Act, with selections made from among members nominated by State and Union Territory governments, as well as by State Medical Councils. Ten part-time members were selected from the nominees of State and UT governments who were previously appointed to the Medical Advisory Council in 2022. These members represent Gujarat, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Jharkhand, Chandigarh, and Madhya Pradesh.
